Synopsis
Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver (2018) is a German family fantasy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Dennis Gansel. The film adapts Michael Ende's beloved 1960 children's novel — by the author of The Neverending Story — about orphan Jim, who lives on the tiny island of Lummerland with engine driver Luke and their steam locomotive Emma.
When the island runs out of room and the two friends are told to leave, they set off across the world on Emma instead. Their route takes them through pirate twins, illusory giants, and eventually to the hidden Dragon City, where Jim's origins are buried. Henning Baum plays Luke as a man of few words and total reliability; Solomon Gordon is a Jim who gets scared but never stops moving.
