Synopsis
Life or Something Like It (2002) is a romantic comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM. Then a throwaway street interview with a homeless psychic turns her week upside down — he tells her, plainly, that she'll be dead in seven days.
She laughs it off. But the man also calls the next morning's hailstorm and the exact score of a ballgame, and suddenly the joke sticks in her throat. With a possible deadline counting down, Lanie starts auditing the life she'd never questioned: whether she loves the man she's marrying, whether the stories she chases mean anything. Through it all there's Pete, the cynical cameraman she's always sparring with, and the bickering slowly curdles into something warmer.
This is Angelina Jolie playing against type — a blonde, ambitious go-getter in a Stephen Herek rom-com. Tony Shalhoub turns up as the prophet, and Lanie's impromptu "Satisfaction" sing-along during a transit strike became the film's signature beat.
