Synopsis
The Upside of Anger (2005) is a US-German comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by Mike Binder. Joan Allen plays Terry Wolfmeyer, a suburban wife whose husband vanishes one day without a word — no fight, no goodbye, no explanation. Left with four daughters and a growing liquor cabinet, she starts to unravel.
Kevin Costner plays Denny, the ex-baseball player next door who hosts a radio show and has nowhere better to be. He becomes her drinking partner, her reluctant anchor, and eventually something harder to categorize. Allen brings a tightly wound ferocity to Terry — a woman whose fury keeps her moving but threatens to swallow everything around her. The four daughters, played by Erika Christensen, Keri Russell, Alicia Witt and Evan Rachel Wood, each carry a different kind of damage and comic timing. For a film that deals in grief and bad decisions, it is surprisingly funny without flinching. Stream The Upside of Anger online on iFILM.
