Black or White

Black or White (2015) is a drama directed by Mike Binder that you can watch online on iFILM. Kevin Costner plays Elliot Anderson, a widower who has raised his mixed-race granddaughter Eloise since birth. When his wife dies in a crash, the girl's paternal grandmother Rowena — played by Octavia Spencer — steps forward and demands custody.

Elliot is grieving, stubborn, and has his own blind spots. Rowena is fierce, loving, and convinced Eloise belongs in a Black family. Neither is the villain here. Their clash plays out in a courtroom that forces both families to confront comfortable assumptions about race, belonging and what a child actually needs.

What makes this film land harder than expected is its refusal to hand you an easy verdict. Both grandparents are right about something and wrong about something else, and the script doesn't let anyone off the hook cleanly. Watch Black or White (2015) online on iFILM.
