Childhood's End (Season 1)
No war. No disease. No poverty. But at what cost?
Synopsis
Childhood's End (2015) is a Syfy miniseries you can watch online on iFILM — an adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke's 1953 novel directed by Nick Hurran, with Colm Meaney, Mike Vogel, and Charles Dance leading the cast.
Giant alien ships appear silently over every major city on Earth. Wars stop. Disease retreats. Famine ends. The beings behind it all — known only as the Overlords — refuse to show themselves, running a near-perfect world from behind closed doors. Kansas farmer Ricky Stormgren is chosen as the sole human contact point, and what he gradually learns about their true form and intentions goes well beyond any negotiation humanity was prepared for.
Clarke wrote the novel two years before 2001: A Space Odyssey, and it carries the same unsentimental logic: what if the price of peace is the end of everything that made us human? Three episodes, no wasted time, and a final act that earns its scope. Stream Childhood's End (2015) online on iFILM.
