Neveldine directs this as a straight-ahead hard-boiled action piece with no interest in nuance — and that's the right call for the material. Gibson as the weathered handler is the main draw; Hauser handles the physical work cleanly. If you want something that runs on muscle and forward momentum rather than plot intricacy, this delivers.
