Synopsis
The Tunnel (2013) is a British-French crime drama you can watch online on iFILM. A body turns up dead center in the Channel Tunnel, right on the line between France and the UK — one half on each side — so by the book two police forces have to share the case.
The investigation falls to a mismatched pair: the rigid, literal-minded French detective Elise Wasserman (Clémence Poésy) and the rumpled, cynical Brit Karl Roebuck (Stephen Dillane). That first corpse is only a prologue. A killer nicknamed the Truth Terrorist stages a run of public crimes, each one rubbing both nations' faces in a social wound they'd rather ignore. The deeper the detectives dig, the more personal the hunt gets.
This is the Anglo-French remake of the Scandinavian hit The Bridge, and it lives on the chemistry between its leads — Poésy's icy bluntness against Dillane's weary charm. Grim tone, patient pacing, a case where the border is never only on the map. Made for fans of Nordic noir and anyone who likes a detective story with a false bottom.
