Synopsis

That abduction is only the first knot. Minutes later a plane goes down into the Channel, and two cases that looked unrelated braid into a single web with terror at its core. The work is harder this time. Elise has to hold back evidence from Karl, a guarded newcomer named Eryka drifts in with a murky past, and the search for a missing woman, Madeleine, swells into an international scramble. The private and the professional refuse to separate again — one discovery threatens to upend Karl's whole life, and each detective in turn steps over a line they'll regret.
