Grace traded social work for a uniform, Tommy can't trust his own nerve, and Annie is desperate to prove she belongs. Northern Ireland presses in on all of them: neighborhoods that despise the police, informants no one can keep safe, and senior officers who learned long ago to trust nobody. One slip in procedure and the whole team pays for it.

Creators Declan Lawn and Adam Patterson came up making documentaries, and it shows — Belfast isn't scenery here, it's a character with old wounds. The show took the BAFTA for Best Drama Series and holds a rare balance: the tension of a thriller and the plain exhaustion of people who just want to survive the shift.
