Synopsis
Lore (2017), Season 1 is a horror anthology of six episodes you can watch online on iFILM. Each one digs up a real event and shows how it hardened into a legend we still tell.
The episodes stand alone. A New England consumption scare that fed the vampire myth; a doctor who turned the lobotomy into an assembly-line procedure; an Irishman certain a fairy had swapped out his wife; the Spiritualist craze and its talking-to-the-dead houses; a German village in 1589 hunting a werewolf; and a lonely boy whose gift doll starts to feel a little too alive. Reenactments, animation, and archive footage sit under narration drawn from Aaron Mahnke's podcast.
There's no running plot, which suits it — six short chapters you can watch in any order. The scares come less from jump cuts than from the fact that all of it actually happened. Stream Lore Season 1 online on iFILM.
