Synopsis
The Monster (2016) is Bryan Bertino's lean horror film, ready to watch online on iFILM. A drinking mother and her teenage daughter break down on an empty forest road after dark. Soon something in the trees starts circling the car.
Kathy and Lizzy can barely tolerate each other after years of broken promises and shouting matches. The accident traps them in one stalled vehicle, no signal, no help, just as a creature emerges from the woods. Bertino shoots most of it by headlight glare and slips in flashbacks of a family already in ruins. Zoe Kazan plays the mother coming apart, with Ella Ballentine as the daughter forced to grow up over a single night.
It runs a tight 91 minutes, and the dread never loosens its grip. The beast doubles as a literal threat and as the thing these two have spent a decade running from. Pick it if you like horror built on people rather than jump scares. Stream The Monster (2016) online on iFILM.
