Synopsis

It starts in the late 1980s. Daniel Léger, a recovering heroin addict, drifts into a drug deal he should have walked away from. It collapses, and he ends up in a Bangkok cell facing a hundred-year sentence. Word of the conviction reaches Victor Malarek, a reporter at the Globe and Mail (played by Josh Hartnett), who starts pulling threads — and finds undercover cops who needed a headline bust and built the case to get one.
The film runs on two tracks at once: Léger surviving behind bars, and the slow, dogged journalism that drags the truth into the open. Antoine Olivier Pilon plays Daniel as broken but not beaten, with Stephen McHattie and Jim Gaffigan alongside.
