Gloria!

Gloria! (2024) is a music-driven period drama you can watch online on iFILM, the debut feature from Italian singer-songwriter Margherita Vicario. The setting is a girls' boarding convent near Venice in the closing years of the 1700s, where a near-silent servant named Teresa turns out to have an extraordinary ear.

Inside walls built for prayer and obedient copying of male composers' scores, a handful of students stumble on a strange keyboard instrument hidden away in a cellar. What they build from it is loud, rhythmic and joyful — pop music smuggled into a century that has no name for it yet. Teresa and her friends start writing their own songs, defying the chaplain and tutors who insist that real talent only comes from men.
