Synopsis
The Man from Snowy River (1982) is an Australian western you can watch online on iFILM, directed by George T. Miller and shot across the rugged peaks of Victoria's high country. When his father dies, eighteen-year-old Jim Craig comes down from the mountains to earn his keep on the plains.
Jim takes a job with wealthy cattleman Harrison and falls for his headstrong daughter, Jessica. The boss wants no part of him, and there's an old wound underneath it all — Harrison and his twin brother Spur have been fighting over land for two decades. Tom Burlinson plays the young horseman opposite Sigrid Thornton, while Kirk Douglas pulls double duty as both feuding brothers.
The story springs from Banjo Paterson's famous bush ballad, a poem most Australians can recite by heart. What people remember, though, is the riding: that breakneck chase down a near-vertical slope was done for real, stuntwork and all. If you like your adventure widescreen and old-fashioned, this one delivers. Stream The Man from Snowy River (1982) online on iFILM.
