Synopsis
Five Fingers (2006) is a tense two-hander thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Dutch pianist Martijn flies to Morocco hoping to launch a food program for starving kids. Minutes after landing he's drugged, dragged off and locked in a cell, his guide already dead.
What follows isn't torture porn but a battle of nerves. His captor, Ahmat, played by Laurence Fishburne, sits across from him with a chessboard. Lose a game, lose a finger. Ryan Phillippe's prisoner keeps trying to read the man's real motive, and slowly the easy assumptions fall apart. Director Laurence Malkin keeps it small: 82 minutes, almost one room, two actors talking each other into a corner. If you like thrillers that tighten through dialogue rather than action, this one earns its squirms. Stream Five Fingers online on iFILM.
