Synopsis
Bug (1975) is an American horror film with a science-fiction edge that you can watch online on iFILM. An earthquake splits the ground beneath a sleepy town and lets loose something no entomologist has catalogued: oversized cockroaches that can spark fire on command.
At first it plays like an absurd plague — bugs setting the place alight. Then scientist James Parmiter, instead of exterminating the brood, decides to study and breed it. The longer he tinkers, the clearer it becomes that these things carry their own intelligence and their own agenda, and his obsession drags him far past anything a sane laboratory would allow.
Director Jeannot Szwarc shot a grim, low-budget creature feature, with Bradford Dillman as the researcher who can't let go. It was the final production from William Castle, the great showman of gimmick horror, and his fingerprints sit on every frame. It won't scare you the modern way, but it earns its dread through old-school grit and a closing turn that genuinely unsettles. Stream Bug (1975) online on iFILM.
