Synopsis
Mean Creek (2004) is a low-budget Oregon drama from debut director Jacob Aaron Estes that you can watch online on iFILM. Rory Culkin, Josh Peck, and Trevor Morgan play a group of small-town teenagers who plan a humiliating prank on the school bully — and spend the rest of the film trying to live with what actually happens instead.
Sam gets beaten up by George, the big kid from school. His older brother Rocky pulls together a group of friends: invite George on a river trip under the pretense of a birthday, get him to strip down during a game of truth-or-dare, and leave him there. Clean revenge, no mess. Except George turns out to be more complicated than a hallway bully, and the plan doesn't survive contact with a real human being.
Estes shot the whole thing for under two million dollars and landed it in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes. It's the kind of film that makes you uncomfortable without ever raising its voice. Stream Mean Creek (2004) online on iFILM.
