TV-14Season 1
Synopsis
Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King (2006), Season 1 — watch online on iFILM: eight standalone episodes, each adapting a different King short story. American–Australian co-production, no through-line — every episode its own closed world.
A contract killer finds his latest victim's mother has mailed him a toy chest full of soldiers with a grudge. Newlyweds on their honeymoon wander into a London neighbourhood that does not appear on any map. A horror writer buys a painting at a yard sale — it keeps changing, and no matter what he does with it, it comes back. A man fully conscious from a snake bite lies in an autopsy room, unable to signal that he is alive. Two wrong-turn tourists land in a town where the residents are dead rock legends who never let anyone leave.
The cast is consistently strong — William Hurt, William H. Macy, Ron Livingston, Henry Thomas. Individual episode quality varies, but at its best ("Battleground," "Umney's Last Case") the anthology stands among the sharper King adaptations. Stream Nightmares & Dreamscapes Season 1 online on iFILM.
