Synopsis
Sometimes I Think About Dying (2024) is a quiet indie drama starring Daisy Ridley, ready to watch online on iFILM. Fran works a desk job in a small coastal Oregon town, barely speaks to her coworkers, and lives the same grey day on repeat.
Alone with her thoughts, Fran drifts into morbid daydreams — picturing her own body in the woods, on the wet sand, under her office desk. The images oddly soothe her. Then Robert, the new hire, shows up: a few emailed jokes, a movie night, one slice of pie shared between them. Letting someone in turns out to be the hardest thing she has ever done, and the only obstacle is herself.
Director Rachel Lambert builds the film out of pauses, blank stares and the fluorescent hum of an open-plan office, while Ridley carries whole scenes with almost no dialogue. It's a chamber piece about social anxiety and the fear of being seen, with no melodrama and no big speeches. Perfect for fans of slow, watchful character studies like Paterson.
