Synopsis

Sidney Young built a tiny magazine out of mocking famous people and their inflated egos. Then Clayton Harding, editor of the Manhattan tastemaker Sharps, hires him. Kirsten Dunst plays the colleague who keeps bailing him out, Megan Fox is the starlet he chases, and Jeff Bridges runs the whole operation with a cold smile.
Director Robert B. Weide adapted journalist Toby Young's caustic memoir into a broad cringe comedy rather than a clever satire. The pleasure here is watching Pegg lie, flail and detonate every room he walks into. Good pick if you like a self-sabotaging lead and a peek behind the velvet rope.
