Synopsis
Dog Pound (2010) is a Canadian–French drama directed by Kim Chapiron — watch it online on iFILM. The cast is led by Adam Butcher, Shane Kippel, and Mateo Morales. The film is a loose reimagining of the 1974 French film La Bête, relocated to a North American juvenile correctional facility.
Three teenage offenders arrive at the same detention centre on the same day. Different charges, different backgrounds, same problem: the facility runs on a hierarchy that the staff doesn't control. The older inmates set the terms. New arrivals either find their footing fast or become targets. The film tracks all three as they navigate that reality, with no guarantee any of them come through intact.
Chapiron keeps the camera unblinking and the script free of redemption arcs. It's not a comfortable watch — but it's an honest one, and that's exactly what makes it worth the time for anyone drawn to prison dramas that don't clean up the edges. Stream Dog Pound (2010) on iFILM.
