Synopsis

The screenplay is by Joe Eszterhas; Verhoeven shoots Vegas's glitter and its grind with equal frankness, never letting one cancel out the other.
The film swept the Razzie Awards upon release and became one of the most discussed box-office misfires of the 1990s. It then slowly transformed into a cult object — screened at midnight shows, reappraised by critics who came back to it with fresh eyes.
