About

Synopsis

Mansfield Park (1999) is a British adaptation of Jane Austen's novel you can watch online on iFILM. Fanny Price is sent at twelve to live with her wealthy Bertram relatives, where she is tolerated rather than welcomed. Only her cousin Edmund (Jonny Lee Miller) treats her as an equal. She grows up quiet and observant — and far sharper than anyone around her gives her credit for.

The arrival of the Crawford siblings reshapes everything. Henry (Alessandro Nivola) sets his sights on Fanny, though his past doesn't inspire confidence; his sister Mary pursues Edmund with calculated charm. Frances O'Connor plays Fanny not as a passive figure waiting to be rescued, but as a young woman with a genuine moral compass. Director Patricia Rozema wove excerpts from Austen's own letters and juvenilia into the script, giving the film a self-aware, slightly subversive edge that sets it apart from the period-drama crowd.

It runs 112 minutes and skips the warm glow many Austen adaptations lean on — the discomfort here is the point. Stream Mansfield Park (1999) online on iFILM.
