Beforeigners (Seasons 1–2)

Beforeigners (2019) is an HBO Nordic sci-fi crime series you can watch online on iFILM. Columns of light erupt from the Oslo fjord, and people emerge from three different eras — the Stone Age, the Viking period, and the late 19th century. None of them know how they got here or how to go back.

A few years on, former Viking Alfhildr (Krista Kosonen) has joined the police and is paired with worn-out detective Lars Haaland (Nicolai Cleve Broch). Their case: a murdered time-traveller and the conspiracy hiding behind the arrivals. The show runs as a Nordic noir procedural on the surface, but the real subject is how a society treats people who arrive uninvited — the "beforeigners" crowd into slums, take the worst jobs, and sit at the bottom of every ladder.
