Wild Mountain Thyme

Wild Mountain Thyme (2020) is an Irish romantic drama — watch online on iFILM. Writer-director John Patrick Shanley, who wrote and directed Doubt, adapts his own stage play: Emily Blunt and Jamie Dornan play neighbouring farmers in the west of Ireland who have been quietly in love for years and can't quite close the distance between them.

Rosemary has decided Anthony is her man. Anthony is clearly drawn to her but seems almost cursed with hesitation. The stakes sharpen when his father (Christopher Walken, doing things only Christopher Walken can do) announces plans to hand the family farm to an American nephew played by Jon Hamm. Suddenly, waiting is no longer an option. The landscape is shot with real affection, and Shanley's dialogue carries a deliberate theatrical lilt.
