Synopsis
Let Me Eat Your Pancreas (2017) is a Japanese romance drama you can watch online on iFILM. Adapted from Yoru Sumino's bestselling novel and directed by Sho Tsukikawa, it opens when a withdrawn high-schooler stumbles onto a classmate's secret diary.
The diary belongs to Sakura Yamauchi (Minami Hamabe), who is dying of a pancreatic illness almost no one knows about. She refuses pity. Instead she drags the guarded boy (Takumi Kitamura) into her bucket list, and an odd, bright closeness grows on borrowed time. A second thread, set twelve years later, follows him as a teacher at their old school, piecing the memory back together.
For all the morbid title, this leans less on illness than on one person teaching another how to be alive. Tsukikawa plays it tender rather than maudlin and aims straight for the tear ducts in the final act — and hits. Shun Oguri and Keiko Kitagawa co-star. Stream Let Me Eat Your Pancreas online on iFILM.
