Synopsis
Turning Red (2022) is a Pixar animated comedy-fantasy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Domee Shi — the first woman to solo-direct a full Pixar feature. Set in Toronto in 2002, the film follows thirteen-year-old Meilin Lee, voiced by Rosalie Chiang, a straight-A student desperate to keep her overprotective mother happy.
The catch: whenever Meilin gets too excited, embarrassed, or worked up about anything, she turns into a giant red panda. Her mother Ming, voiced by Sandra Oh, sees it as a family curse that needs a ritual fix — fast. Meilin is less convinced. Between saving up for a 4*Town concert and figuring out who she actually wants to be, the panda starts feeling less like a problem and more like a superpower.
