Synopsis
Watch Inside No. 9 (2014) Season 7 online on iFILM — six new self-contained stories from BBC Two, all behind the familiar door marked number 9. Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith keep switching genre every half hour, from black comedy to quiet drama.
The season opens with a reunion of old university friends at a deserted lake; the boat pushes off, and the talk drifts into far deeper water than anyone wanted. A new teacher at a rural Welsh primary school then finds himself living in the shadow of a beloved predecessor. A hard-edged detective hunts for a missing boy while fighting her own demons. Two hopeless kidnappers grab a financier's wife, and the whole plan rests on everyone staying in character. A teenager and his mother let a mysterious stranger into their home, and the finale, "Wise Owl", digs up a childhood wound left by some old 1970s public-information cartoons.
