Synopsis
Knights of Badassdom (2014) is a horror comedy from director Joe Lynch that you can watch online on iFILM. A pack of LARPers heads into the New Jersey woods for a Dungeons & Dragons-style live game — and accidentally summons an actual demon.
Freshly dumped Joe (Ryan Kwanten) gets dragged out for the weekend by his friends: hot-headed Eric and the deadpan Hung, played by Peter Dinklage. The catch is a prop spellbook bought online that turns out to be a real grimoire, and the chant they read aloud drags a blood-hungry succubus up from hell wearing the face of Joe's ex. Suddenly a troop of cardboard knights has to fight for real, with Summer Glau and Steve Zahn swinging foam swords beside them.
The whole thing runs on metal riffs, latex armor and geysers of fake gore, fueled by genuine affection for tabletop nerds. It sat in post-production limbo for years, and the director's cut diverges from the theatrical release. No masterpiece — just loud, gory fun aimed squarely at its crowd.
