Synopsis
Just Getting Started (2017) is an American action-comedy directed by Ron Shelton that you can watch online on iFILM. Morgan Freeman plays Duke Diver, the smooth-talking manager of a Palm Springs resort who is quietly living out his days under witness protection.
Things get complicated when Leo shows up — a retired military man played by Tommy Lee Jones who wants the same table, the same woman (Rene Russo), and the same top spot at the resort. The two go at each other with the low-key aggression of men who've both won too many arguments in their lives. Then Duke's past actually catches up with him, and the rivalry suddenly has higher stakes.
Shelton directed Bull Durham and Tin Cup, so he knows how to build a movie around two people who can't stand each other but need to. Freeman and Jones clearly enjoy the sparring, and that carries the film further than its premise deserves. Stream Just Getting Started (2017) online on iFILM.
