Synopsis

Vince (Antonio Banderas) and Cesar (Woody Harrelson) are two LA boxers past their prime who haven't been near a real fight in years. When a Vegas promoter calls because his undercard dropped out hours before a Mike Tyson bout, the two friends get their shot — on one condition: they have to fight each other. Their shared girlfriend Grace (Lolita Davidovich) drives them out from LA, and the three-way dynamic in that car does the work a training montage never could.
Shelton — the director of Bull Durham — knows how athletic obsession warps everything around it. The cameo rotation is its own spectacle: Tyson, Kevin Costner, Lucy Liu, Wesley Snipes, and James Woods all pass through, making the film feel like a Las Vegas weekend that accidentally turned into a movie.
