Death in Paradise (2011), Season 9 — watch this Caribbean detective series online on iFILM, eight episodes built around a changing of the guard: midway through, Jack Mooney heads back to London and the station passes to the jittery, allergy-prone DI Neville Parker.
It opens on New Year's Eve, with a woman knifed by a man in a devil mask the team has to find before he kills again. From there: an artist poisoned with cyanide in a sealed studio, a cyclist dead on the Tour des Antilles, a woman electrocuted in a bathtub behind a door locked from the inside. Mooney's romance with Anna pulls at him until news of his daughter's graduation sends him home for good. Parker arrives as his opposite — terrified of sun, insects and most of the island, yet quick to spot what everyone else walks past — and is dropped straight into a "suicide" that turns out to be murder.
