Synopsis
Frankenfish (2004) is a made-for-TV creature feature you can watch online on iFILM, and it knows exactly how dumb-fun it is. Director Mark A.Z. Dippé drops the whole thing into the Louisiana bayou, where stilt shacks sit over black water and help is a long boat ride away.
Medical investigator Sam Rivers shows up to figure out how a swamp local ended up torn to pieces. With biologist Mary Callahan he reaches the victim's floating house and meets the neighbors — right as they realize the killers are genetically engineered Chinese snakeheads that escaped a rich hunter's private stock. Cue a night trapped on the water, a shrinking group of survivors, and predators that put people at the bottom of the food chain.
Tori Kittles and China Chow lean into the doomed-cabin-by-the-marsh vibe with a straight face. No pretensions, plenty of teeth. Stream Frankenfish (2004) online on iFILM.
