Synopsis

Sidney Chambers is a Church of England vicar with a wartime past, a love of jazz, and a conscience that won't stay quiet. When a parishioner's death looks too convenient to be a suicide, Sidney starts asking questions that Inspector Geordie Keating would rather he didn't. Their partnership forms in that friction — two veterans who survived the same war and can't stop fighting smaller ones. Six episodes, six cases: a stolen engagement ring tied to murder, mysterious deaths in the village, a London jazz club outing that doesn't stay relaxing, a fire with something underneath it. By the end, Sidney is facing a question the crimes didn't put there — whether parish life is actually what he wants.
