TV-14Season 1
No war. No disease. No poverty. But at what cost?
Synopsis
Childhood's End (2015), Season 1 is a three-part sci-fi drama you can watch online on iFILM, adapted from Arthur C. Clarke's novel about the day starships appear over Earth's largest cities.
The miniseries moves through three eras. First, Missouri farmer Ricky Stormgren becomes the go-between for humanity and an unseen visitor named Karellen, who refuses to show his face for decades. Then the promised golden age arrives — no war, no hunger — though the price of paradise surfaces slowly. And when children everywhere begin to change, showing abilities no parent can explain, people finally ask whose plan the Overlords were carrying out all along.
Charles Dance voices Karellen and anchors the whole thing. Built across three nights of television, it heads toward an ending you wouldn't call happy — sci-fi that argues with the very notion of being saved. Stream Childhood's End Season 1 online on iFILM.
