TV-MASynopsis
Loudermilk (2017), Season 1 is a recovery dramedy you can watch online on iFILM — ten episodes about a sober alcoholic with the worst attitude in the room. Sam Loudermilk, an ex–music critic, runs a support group and insults nearly everyone he tries to help.
The first season gets going on a small threat: to keep the space for his weekly meetings, the grouchy counselor has to actually reach a young addict named Claire, who promptly crashes on his couch. From there the episodes build an awkward makeshift family — Sam, his roommate and best friend Ben, and a group full of people guarding their own secrets. Each installment leans on one raw subject: shame, relapse, fathers and sons. Midway a new member, Tom, arrives along with a toxic "sponsor," Cutter; then Sam's hard-drinking father turns up and tears open old wounds, and a closing road trip to New Orleans pushes everyone off the rails toward a decision that changes the whole picture.
Created by Peter Farrelly and Bobby Mort, with Ron Livingston in the lead, it works through honest, acidic humor about staying sober — no syrup, no moralizing. Stream Loudermilk Season 1 online on iFILM.
