Ace of the Diamond (2013) is a Japanese baseball anime series you can watch online on iFILM, adapted from Yu Terajima's manga. Eijun Sawamura is a left-handed pitcher from a small town with a wild, unpredictable delivery and a habit of wearing every emotion on his face. His local team missed the national Koshien championship; a scout spotted him anyway, and he transfers to Seido High in Tokyo — one of the most competitive baseball programs in the country.

Seido has no room for sentiment. Senior pitchers hold their spots, the coaching staff has developed professional-level talent before, and nobody is handing anything to a loud kid from the provinces. Ryota Osaka voices Sawamura as someone who manages to irritate everyone around him and earn their trust in the same breath. The series takes its time building a full roster of thirty-plus players with individual backstories, and that patience turns each match into something worth watching.
