Synopsis
Pollock (2000) is an American biographical drama you can watch online on iFILM. Ed Harris directed the film and took the title role himself, spending two years learning to paint in Jackson Pollock's style so every studio scene could be shot without a body double.
The story opens in 1941, when painter Lee Krasner — played by Marcia Gay Harden — walks into Pollock's Brooklyn studio and immediately grasps what he is onto. What follows covers fifteen years: the invention of drip painting, a Life Magazine cover that made him internationally famous, the relationship with Krasner that held him together, and the alcoholism that pulled him apart. Jennifer Connelly and Val Kilmer appear in supporting roles, with Amy Madigan as Pollock's sister-in-law.
Harden took home the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Harris's direction is restrained where the subject is chaos — which turns out to be the right call. Stream Pollock (2000) online on iFILM.
