She opens a small shop of herbs and charms, wins over plenty of residents, and just as easily becomes the talk of the gossips. The mayor's wife, used to running everything, launches a campaign to drive the stranger out, fanning rumors that she's in league with dark forces. The widowed sheriff and his kids, meanwhile, find themselves drawn to her.
