Sham

Sham (2025) is a Japanese thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Takashi Miike. A middle school teacher is accused by parents of traumatizing their child. The case looks clear-cut. It isn't.

Go Ayano plays the teacher; Ko Shibasaki leads the opposing side. Miike builds the film as a set of scales — testimony and counter-testimony, each scene adding weight until the whole structure tips in ways that hurt. At 129 minutes, the pacing is deliberate and every scene earns its place.

For a director who made Audition, Ichi the Killer and 13 Assassins, this is unusually restrained. No shock tactics. Just a school hallway, a courtroom, and two versions of the same event. Stream Sham online on iFILM.
