Synopsis
Dead or Alive 2: Birds (2000) is a Takashi Miike crime drama you can watch online on iFILM. Two contract killers turn up on the same hit and recognize each other as childhood friends.
Mizuki and Shu grew up in the same orphanage on a tiny island, and both now make a living putting people in the ground — for the yakuza, for drug cartels, for whoever pays. A chance encounter sends them back home, where old memories outweigh the job. So they keep killing, but flip the targets: the fees now buy vaccines for kids in war zones. Miike regulars Sho Aikawa and Riki Takeuchi play the pair.
This is the oddest and gentlest entry in the loose trilogy. Miike slams the brakes between bursts of violence for clowning, angel wings and a fairy-tale melancholy the title never warns you about.
