Rainy Dog

Rainy Dog (1997) is a Takashi Miike crime drama you can watch online on iFILM. Yuji, a Japanese hitman cut loose in Taipei, scrapes by taking contract kills for a local boss and has nearly forgotten how to feel anything.

Then a woman from his past turns up at his door, drops off a silent little boy — supposedly his son — and vanishes. Yuji has no idea if it's true and isn't sure he wants to know. The kid trails him everywhere, even onto a job. Meanwhile the rain never lets up, turning the turf war between yakuza and Taiwanese triads into a soaked, slow-burning mess.

This is the middle film of Miike's Black Society Trilogy, lighter on the shock tactics of his later work and heavier on mood, with an unexpected tenderness growing between the killer and the child.
