That arrangement falls apart when the daughter he barely knows — now an MI6 analyst — tracks him down with news that upends everything: his handler has been dead for years and the division was disbanded long ago. Someone else entirely has been running him. Eckhart and Abigail Breslin play a father and daughter who are strangers first and allies second, and the film builds its tension from that uneasy dynamic as they chase down whoever has been pulling the strings for over twenty years. Tim Roth orbits them as a figure who may know more than he lets on.
