Synopsis
Earth Abides (2024) is a post-apocalyptic series you can watch online on iFILM. A plague of staggering virulence tears across the planet, and within weeks almost the entire human race is gone. What's left is a handful of dazed survivors, scattered through cities that have suddenly fallen silent.
One of them, Ish, played by Alexander Ludwig, has to work out what comes next as the familiar world quietly collapses. The power dies, roads crack and green over, wildlife reclaims the pavement. Slowly a small group forms around him, and the question stops being how to restore the past and becomes what kind of life to build from scratch. Jessica Frances Dukes and Luisa d'Oliveira also feature in the cast.
The show adapts George R. Stewart's celebrated 1949 novel, one of the earliest stories about the end of civilization and an influence on everything from Stephen King to The Walking Dead.
