Synopsis
The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Movie (1979) is a feature-length Warner Bros. animation compilation you can watch online on iFILM. Director Chuck Jones assembled eleven Looney Tunes shorts — including "What's Opera, Doc?", "Duck Amuck", "Robin Hood Daffy" and "Bully for Bugs" — and wrapped them in a framing device where Bugs himself holds court, reflecting on his life and on the art of the screen chase.
The rest of the gang shows up between segments: Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Wile E. Coyote, the Road Runner. Mel Blanc voices nearly all of them. The shorts range from the late 1940s to the early 1960s; some were already two decades old when this film came out, and none of them feel dated.
Jones's timing, Carl Stalling's scores, and Mike Maltese's writing hold up with a precision that most modern comedies never reach. This is the kind of thing that explains why grown adults still quote Looney Tunes. Stream The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Movie (1979) online on iFILM.
