Love at First Bite

So the vampire (George Hamilton) and his devoted servant Renfield decamp to late-'70s New York, hunting the reincarnation of his eternal love. He finds her in Cindy (Susan Saint James), a flighty Manhattan model who is half-charmed and half-amused by the Count's old-world courtship. Standing in the way is her psychiatrist, Jeffrey Rosenberg (Richard Benjamin), a Van Helsing descendant determined to drive a stake through the romance — literally.

Hamilton plays Dracula as a dapper relic stranded in the disco age, and that fish-out-of-water gag carries the whole picture. A featherlight spoof that became a surprise box-office hit in 1979 and one of the most likable vampire comedies of its decade. Stream Love at First Bite online on iFILM.
