Synopsis
The Coast Guard (해안선, 2002) is a Korean drama from Kim Ki-duk you can watch online on iFILM. On a barbed-wire stretch of South Korean shoreline, Private Kang patrols with one obsession: to gun down an infiltrating spy.
Relentless drills have turned him into a zealot who treats killing a spy as the highest honor. One night he opens fire on a figure inside the restricted zone. It isn't a spy. It's a local man who came to the beach with his girlfriend. The shot breaks everyone — Kang, who loses his mind to his own "heroism," the dead man's grieving girl, and the whole platoon that has to live with it.
