TV-14Synopsis
Friday Night Dinner (2011), Season 3 — watch all six episodes online on iFILM and meet the series at the point it developed something it had not tried before: a storyline.
For the first time, a thread runs across all six 2014 episodes. Grandma announces she is engaged to the ghastly Mr Morris — 85 years old, widely considered awful — and the Goodman family spend the rest of the season failing to accept it. Woven around that: Dad is hiding a dead fox in the garage freezer because he plans to have it stuffed and Mum must not find out. Adam brings a girlfriend to Friday dinner for the first time, instantly acquiring an eight-year-old rival who has an enormous crush on him. The anniversary portrait Dad paints of Mum turns out to look unmistakably like Margaret Thatcher. Jim sleepwalks through the house at exactly the wrong moment. A family outing ends with the discovery that Aunty Val is having an affair. All roads lead to Grandma's wedding day — and the question of whether she will actually go through with it.
Season 3 is the strongest of the early run for exactly that reason: it has something at stake. Stream Friday Night Dinner Season 3 online on iFILM.
