Synopsis
Friday Night Dinner (2011) is a British sitcom you can watch online on iFILM. Every Friday grown-up brothers Adam and Jonny head back to their parents' house for the weekly family meal, and somehow something always goes wrong.
The Goodmans aren't a perfect family or a nightmare one — they're painfully ordinary, which is the whole joke. Dad wanders around shirtless and sneaks ketchup straight from the bottle. Mum is glued to her cooking shows and forever trying to marry everyone off. Hapless neighbour Jim keeps barging in uninvited, terrified of his own dog. The brothers spend the evening winding each other up and pulling small pranks while dinner slides gently into chaos.
Simon Bird, Tom Rosenthal and Tamsin Greig lead the cast, with Paul Ritter as the deadpan dad Martin who became the show's breakout favourite. This is cosy cringe comedy in tidy half-hour helpings, where the laughs grow out of household nonsense rather than punchlines. Perfect when you want something light and very English.
