Synopsis
Crisis in Six Scenes (2016) is Woody Allen's comedy miniseries for Amazon, and you can watch online on iFILM. It was his first and only run at television — six short episodes set in the United States during the unrest of the 1960s.
Allen plays a jittery writer settled into quiet suburban life with his wife. That calm collapses overnight when Lennie, a young radical on the run, turns up at their door, played by Miley Cyrus. She's hiding from the law, stuffing the house full of revolutionary talk, and flipping a respectable family's routine completely over. Elaine May and Rachel Brosnahan round out the scenes.
This is late-period Allen through and through: chatty dialogue, gentle jabs at the bourgeoisie, sixties politics as backdrop for nervous one-liners. Don't expect anything grand — it's small and uneven — but Allen's regulars and anyone curious about Cyrus in an unexpected role will find it worth a look.
